Junior Kindergarten is for children who are 4 years
old* when the school year commences. You may select 2, 3, 4 or 5 days a week, ½, ¾ or
full days (or any combination!). For all of the programs, you may drop off your child any
time between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.. Our half day program ends at 12:30 p.m.. Our
three-quarter day program ends at 3:00 p.m.. Our full day offers the most flexibility,
allowing children to be picked up any time until 6:00 p.m.
In addition to science, math, reading, writing, journals, Weekly Reader, art
and music activities, all Junior Kindergarten students enjoy daily Spanish class, gym class,
lunch, snacks, and computer time.
* While we follow the general rule that children should be 4 by September 1st
of the year they wish to enroll in Junior Kindergarten, we are a developmental school and
birthday deadlines are not set in stone. We aim to place children in the
developmentally-appropriate grade level, taking into account social, emotional, cognitive
and physical development. Our administrators work with the family to make this decision.
